That’s six years from today.

Here is today’s energy mix:

New York State of Mind – New York Will Need Unprecedented Increase in Wind, Solar to Hit 2030 Target | RBN Energy

Reminder – infrastructure always takes a long time to build. But NY says just six years:

The report also cited an analysis by the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) that said the state would have to triple the amount of installed renewable capacity, from 6.5 gigawatts (GW) in 2022 to 20 GW by 2030. To put that in context, the state has added 12.9 GW of capacity — renewables and fossil fuels combined — over the past two decades.

If it seems like there’s an Empire State Building-sized disconnect between how much electricity New York wants to generate from renewable sources by 2030 and where things stand today, you would be correct. The comptroller’s report identified three areas where the state’s progress has been hindered to date: inconsistent incentives, project cancellations and lengthy project timelines.

Former NYC Mayor Bloomberg says he is investing $500 million dollars in activism to shut down 40% of existing electrical generation by 2030. How that will be replaced is a mystery – or magical thinking. Bloomberg is famous for saying, when running for President, that agriculture had not changed at all in over 300 years. At that time, Laura Carlson (now Nelson) of Laura Farms had just posted a video on Instagram showing farm equipment operation (this went viral after Bloomberg’s idiocy – this is a link to her later Youtube upload).

Watch the video and tell us that nothing’s changed in over 300 years.
