This is a good report – it is about our antiquated electrical infrastructure problem – which I wrote about last week: Puerto Rico’s Solar Revolution: What We Can Learn From the Island’s Energy Crisis – CNET

After hurricanes crashed the failing Puerto Rico electrical grid, some residents are installing their own solar PV and battery systems instead. This is because the Puerto Rico utility is mostly bankrupt and the island’s infrastructure has been falling apart for a long time. Residents were paying almost 25 cents/KWh versus an average of 16 cents in the rest of the U.S. Solar PV makes sense in this southern territory. But their results are not directly applicable to all of the U.S.

Note – my home is powered by solar PV. I live in a “high desert” in the western U.S., where we have more sunshine over the year than many locations and our results may not apply to others.
