The proposed closures come as public schools across the country face declining enrollment, with districts in the New Orleans area planning how best to utilize their current facilities to educate fewer students.
So far, the closures have hit elementary schools the hardest but several districts, including this one, are closing middle schools and occasionally high school campuses.
Now is not a good time to be an education major in college.
