Community colleges are seeking to enroll more high school students in “dual enrollment” programs. When my kids were in high school, we knew several students who were dual enrolled – and received both their high school diploma and their A.A. or A.S. degree at graduation – with credits transferred onto 4-year programs such that they were already finished with the first two years.
Most organizations remain in denial. The incoming cohorts are much smaller than before – but they remain stuck on the post WW2 fertility rate boost, the false prophecies of Paul Ehrlich, and have no idea what is about to hit them due to the declining fertility rate.
