CDC now thinks lockdowns and ineffective NPIs are the cause of today’s rise in Step A, flu and RSV cases (which started early this season but appear to have peaked within the past 2-3 weeks and are now in decline):
- CDC said that increases in Strep A, flu and RSV cases are tied to lockdowns
- The agency said their orders led to a decline in cases over the past few years
- Some experts have said the lack of cases led to ‘immune naivety’ in the US
Left unexplained is why NPIs reduced Strep A, flu and RSV – but failed to stop Covid-19?
Their actions failed to stop the spread of a highly contagious respiratory virus but ruined the economy and caused other health problems.
Note the correlation between the money supply and high inflation, after public health thought we could shut down the entire country indefinitely. We have no workable method for stopping a pandemic from spreading without causing serious harm – inevitably everyone will eventually have the disease too.
As one doctor said early in 2020, there is no path moving forward that leads to no deaths or serious illness. NPIs were hopeful thinking, endorsed by many with a religious fervor.
