The U.S. Postal Service said Tuesday that it intends to purchase at least 66,000 electric delivery vehicles as part of a push to transform its delivery fleet.

Last week, mail was not delivered on our street for 4 of the 6 delivery days. This has been going on for a long time. Residents in our community have been waiting weeks to receive packages shipped from a half day drive away. I waited a week for a package to travel 20 miles.

They blame staff shortages – and confirmed no carrier is assigned to our route. We get mail delivered when someone can pick up an extra shift.

This is occurring in many parts of the country – it is not just here.

They are spending almost $10 billion on new EVs.

Hah hah hah hah:

We have a statutory requirement to deliver mail and packages to 163 million addresses six days per week and to cover our costs in doing so – that is our mission,” DeJoy said. “As I have said in the past, if we can achieve those objectives in a more environmentally responsible way, we will do so.”
