Faced with declining enrollment and aging buildings, Kansas City Public Schools is considering closing 10 schools as part of its long-term plan to expand student opportunities.

This is now happening throughout the U.S. due to the decline in birth rates – and many areas not seeing inbound immigration to make up the short fall.

The US fertility rate dropped below replacement level in 1972 and is basically been below that ever since. This phenomena is now happening globally as well.
