Minimalism is the practice of decluttering one’s life – and many adherents took it to extremes, limiting themselves to owning an arbitrary 100 to 200 items and living in barren rooms devoid of most furniture. The fad began dying during the pandemic and apparently, in 2022, it is still dead.

It’s still mostly dead.

Note – simplifying and decluttering your life is a good thing, I’ve found. Extreme minimalism, however, did not seem sustainable for the hard core adherents. Also, many lived minimalist daily lives but then ate out frequently and spent much time traveling the world, which seemed somewhat at odds with the philosophy.
