Fortunately, Covid is no longer an emergency so many states now report only Monday through Friday, or even just once or twice per week.
The lack of data basically means that mitigation steps are random and we have no way of knowing if they are needed, when they should stop, or whether they are working or not working. Instead, we get public health religion, where practitioners of the religion have faith, not data.
