One week ago, our local hospital system (3 county monopoly) had every bed in use. While Covid-19 was a factor, buried in the press information was they are now “catching up” on procedures that have been delayed up to a year.

My wife had a dental appointment scheduled in about a week from now. However, an elderly family member will be having an out patient surgical procedure and my wife will be traveling to assist this family member; she had to cancel her dental appointment. The next available appointment is in October – 4 months out.

This is because so many people postponed non-urgent health matters, as well as urgent health care that was prohibited by public health Orders.
