Update: The next day, CDC reported a slightly a higher number (just over 24,000), although still trending downward. Unsure where the BNO data comes from as it is often slightly different.

With the usual caveat that weekend numbers are always artificially low due to public health offices closed and/or not reporting full numbers on the weekend. Still, with a drop of 10,000 cases in the week over week moving average a week ago, its quite possible the coming week will come in close to 30,000 averaged new daily cases.

Next, we are starting to see noise about lifting more restrictions – which mostly affects only those states that have had very strict restrictions. I’m not sure we are quite to the “everyone else should resume normal pre-pandemic life” stage but I sense this is possible within weeks.
