Over half of those having a heart attack, if screened using current guidelines, would have been sent home as low risk for heart attack – 2 days before they had a heart attack!
Current heart attack screening tools fail to identify half the people who are at risk, study shows
I had a heart attack. The cardiologist told me she saw nothing in my 10 years of records that suggested there was anything there – she said saw nothing she would have treated. Because of a completely unrelated issue, I’d had an echo stress test 2 years prior, and an echo cardiogram just 9 weeks before I had a heart attack. The echo cardiogram said my heart was normal. Go figure.
