There has been A LOT of national media coverage of EV charging issues in part of Chicago this past week, blamed on cold weather. The actual causes were more complex than just cold weather (has to do also with lack of at home charging for city dwellers there, widespread use of EVs by Uber/Lyft drivers who charge primarily at limited public charging stations, failing Electrify America chargers, and poorly educated EV drivers who didn’t understand range impacts and didn’t realize they needed to charge until too late, who failed to pre-condition batteries for charging, and EV drivers who parked at charging stations and then abandoned their vehicles for hours).

Numerous media outlets piled on, saying this proves that EVs don’t work! Youtubers expanded on this with opinion videos also saying EVs don’t work.

Where I live, GAS STATIONS RAN OUT OF FUEL but EVs kept running just fine!

Much national media attention on EV charging issues in Chicago. Where I live, gas stations ran out of fuel but not a peep from anything other than local media: Oregon ice storm causes some gas pumps to run dry (http://centraloregondaily.com)

There is zero media coverage on our own local gas stations, where I live, running out of fuel as fuel trucks have been unable to cross over the Cascade mountain passes to deliver new fuel supplies.

Oddly enough, my EV is working fine – and I don’t have to worry about gas availability.

But you won’t hear that from the media twits who remain stuck on stupid with their narratives and memes.
