Employees are directed to take trains for all trips under 250 miles, instead of flying: White House asks employees to travel by train, EVs when possible (msn.com) (Note – here in the western U.S. it’s common to be more than 250 miles from the nearest train station.)
They seem to be trading more time enroute as being “cost effective”. Might not save money or impact the climate, but the virtue signaling is great.
Unfortunately, Biden will continue to travel in the world’s largest private jet, with a fleet of support aircraft. Climate Czar John Kerry will continue to fly, as he made clear that important people like him have to fly private to get things done. It’s just Sciencetm!
