A lot of discredited Malthusian thinking in that article.

Her argument is we need socialism and a technocratic elite who can assign to each of us what we precisely require. While actual socialism failed in nearly every country that tried it, if failed only because socialism was not done right.

She argues that rationing would work if only the U.K. did it correctly

Not surprisingly, considering her writing history (more history here) all solutions lead to socialism and rule by technocratic elite central committees. She is the editor of this book promoting American Socialism.

Writer’s Background

Only item found about her background is she attended private liberal arts college, Swarthmore College (about $80,000 per year in 2023 non-discounted tuition, fees, housing, board, etc), and her parents were unionized government workers.
