Another bike crash and brain injury story: What happened to singer Amy Grant?
Update:

I suffered a bike crash and experienced a 5″ long skull fracture when I was about 12 years old. In those days, I was sent home to lie in bed, confused, nauseous and unable to even drink water (had to sip ice cubes). Definitely not meeting any “standards of care”.
In addition to the skull fracture, I experienced 5 additional concussions, two of which were also in bike crashes that knocked me out, broke other bones and my bike helmet. (And if you want to know, of the others, one was a fall while climbing in a tree when very young, one was a fall on ice as an adult, and one was stupidly walking at high speed into a sharp, overhead beam that left me a bloody mess with “slow brain, slow speech” for almost 3 weeks.)
