2022 has been the year without a spring. We are still running our wood pellet stove to heat our home this morning. We live in the high desert east of the Oregon Cascade mountain range and the line of volcanoes.

The Oregonian reports the west side of the state has had the wettest April-May-June on record.

I suspect we are seeing early effects of the Hunga Tonga volcanic explosion early in 2022, now believe to have been on par with the 19th century explosion of Krakatoa, which affected weather for years and decades. Will be interesting to see future analysis of that explosion on weather patterns.

Our home is heated using locally sourced wood pellets and a pellet stove. Our electricity is produced by solar PV. Our roof has R-60 insulation, newly replaced and installed in late 2019.
