Media: Travel stories packaged as romance novels
The endless romance novel travel stories of mostly young women who move abroad, fall in love and live happily ever after are escapaism – and often as fake as the “cottage core” esthetic stories on social medial. These stories warp our world view to believe things that are not true. Most people can not just pack up and move abroad; these stories leave out enough details as to be fake news or disinformation.
