More women embracing independence of solo travel (msn.com)
This goes back to years ago – this is not a new trend:
In the U.S., women dominate leisure travel by a 63% to 37% ratio over men. Worldwide there is a similar skew, with 64% of global travelers being female, versus 36% male, according to RV and Playa.

Also – reminder – there are rarely stories from the media about solo male travelers, a demographic that has been mostly erased from travel media. (See Parts 1 and 2 of the myth that Americans can move abroad for many examples. Also, just did a search on YouTube for “Move Abroad”, and found similar skewed results).
