International, Education: You need international experience to succeed in tech – Coldstreams
80% of Master’s degree students in computer science at U.S. universities are foreign born, and a similar percentage for those pursuing Ph.D. degrees.
It is a given in much of tech corporations (start ups are a bit different) that to move up, you will have both an advanced degree and global experience – both add value to the organizations. With the pool of those with advanced degrees in these subjects skewed so highly towards those with global backgrounds, it is a given that nearly 100% of those who move up in these organizations have international experience.
