Passport stamps, referring to the ink stamp used upon arrival and departure placed on your passport pages will be going away. Instead, countries will track your entry and exit through digital IT systems now.
The process of eliminating stamps has already begun and will spread widely over 2025-2026.
Starting in October and over the next six months, all of the countries of the EU will phase out passport stamps.
I am slightly bummed by this as I only started to travel late in life, having now visited the Netherlands in 2022, and Iceland/Norway in 2023. Doesn’t look like I will be collecting any more passport stamps than those.
