The primary options for obtaining EU residency are that you have immigration privilege:
- About 1/3 of Americans (as described in media stories) obtain residency or citizenship via marriage. Of those, about 90% are educated, attractive, young American women.
- About 1/3 have prior dual citizenship or right of descent ancestry privilege.
- Of the remaining 1/3, about half have work visas and half are not stated. U.S. military personnel stationed abroad account for a large part of this category.
The remaining option has been residency via investment – that too is becoming more restricted with some countries ending such programs and others raising the minimum investment required to high levels.
