The government said in a statement it would increase the international visitor and conservation and tourism fees starting on Oct. 1 to NZ$100 ($62.20) from NZ$35 to “ensure visitors contribute to public services and high-quality experiences while visiting New Zealand.”

The NZ$35 fee was introduced in 2019 – here we are 5 years later and it is nearly tripled in price.
The NZ$100 payment is for the International Visitor and Conservation Tourism (IVL) “fee”.
Separately, all visitors must obtain either a Visa or a NZ$17 Electronic Travel Authority visa in addition to the IVL – which one is needed depends on what country you are arriving from.
