- VP Kamela Harris’ parents were immigrants from India and Jamaica. Harris counts twice on ethnicity – as both a “black woman” and a “Indian woman”.
- President Biden’s, son Hunter Biden’s wife, is from South Africa.
We’ve gone from 4.7% of the U.S. population was foreign born in 1973, to 15% is today foreign born. About 25% of Americans are either foreign born or have an immigrant parent. And about 40% have at least one grandparent that is an immigrant.
In the workforce, among professional jobs, having global experience and connections is common place and often an important distinguishing factor for obtaining a job or for pursuing higher level positions.
