This product is not yet in production and the release date has not been provided. However, this is an intriguing product for spherical VR 360 in 3D, compared to the complexity of and time consuming processing of combining numerous cameras together to create VR 360 or 3D VR 360. Hope it comes to market!

VR seems likely to achieve success in gaming and specialized applications (engineering, science, medicine for example).
Will VR be a big story telling medium?
How will consumers react to the need to wear VR helmets?
(I use the term “VR helmets” since they are …. Consumer tech reporters said 3D required wearing “3D goggles that no one wanted to wear” – the same writers now enthusiastically endorse VR helmets because … well, wearing a helmet is simpler than wearing glasses?)
Since 2005 Flickr, a Yahoo-owned photo sharing site, has supported a relatively large community of 360º photographers with “tens of thousands” of 360º photographs uploaded to the site. So it came as no surprise when they announced an upcoming VR app in September. Now, three months later, Flickr has released Flickr VR for the Samsung Gear VR, but from my initial impressions it probably could have done with a little more time in the tank.
