Online 3D Photo Web Sites

The following web sites are more than just Flickr – they provide online 3D editing tools. You typically upload two images, a side by side 3D image or an MPO file – and then make alignment and other changes “in the cloud”. Once done, your finished 3D image can be stored in your online photo gallery and viewed in multiple formats, as selected by the viewer – such as side by side cross eyed views or anaglyph.

Movie critic argues the world is a flat surface and 3D is not needed

Critic insists the world around is a single flat surface and agrees to remove one eye ball since it is not needed anyway, says 3D is useless: Hollywood and Fine – Marshall Fine Blog » Blog Archive » Why 3D doesn’t matter.

Presumably he thinks the advent of “talking” pictures did not add value and the later introduction of color, well that just added distractions from the story! In fact, let’s go back to theater stages – no, let’s just go back to books – no, let’s just go back to oral story telling!

Does the world need movie critics? No. In one city where we used to live, the local paper’s movie critic larded his reviews with French phrases and citations to exotic foreign films, usually labeling the American made movie as pointless. At which point we knew it would be a good movie for us to see!

Global live 3D broadcast via Internet demo’d in November

I think 3D will take hold on the Internet before broadcast 3D really gets underway:

Taking place between November 26th-30th, thousands of Internet viewers all over the world saw the best Russian and Vietnamese surfing athletes performing long board and short board styles in Vung Tau, Vietnam. What was unique was that, for the first time, viewers could watch the event in 2D, 3D and even 3D without glasses.
