This photo was taken using a single Lumix GH-2 camera and the Olympus 9-18mm wide angle lens. The left and right images were taken by moving the camera between shots.

This photo is from a different position and taken using a Nikon 1 J1 (left camera) and a Nikon 2 J2 (right camera), with the pair mounted on a tripod. Both images were then processed in Stereo Photo Maker.
The technology is said to fit even in small devices. Just as some Sony camcorders (and others) can project their 2D video images onto a white wall or screen, this tech could be used in smart phones or tablets to project 2D or, they say, even 3D content. I do not yet understand how the technology works, but there is evidence that multiple companies are working on bringing this tech to smart phones and tablets within 1 to 2 years.
The LX7 is a popular “enthusiast’s compact” camera known for its good low light performance, modest camera size and excellent image quality for a small sensor camera. 43Rumors says the LX8 is coming in July and will feature 4k video – now that is very cool!

Beautifully done 3D images of jet fighters and other aircraft (and other topics too). Update: The photographer says he did not take these photos but used existing 2D photos and converted them to 3D – and he really did a very good job of it too.
Most are in red/cyan (glasses) format but some are also in cross-eyed (no glasses needed) format.
Some of my example photos shot with the Olympus XZ-2 camera. So far, very pleased with this little “enthusiast’s compact” as it appears to do what I wanted it for, very well.
