A search of Google News reveals an enormous number of &#8220;crises&#8221; underway. The label is now applied to everything. The term &#8220;crisis&#8221; is the language of propaganda. I will make a future post about some of the &#8220;crises&#8221; underway and how the use of language &#8211; and changes to language &#8211; are used to turn news reporting to a propaganda weapon.<\/p>\n<p>While reading some of the links presented by Google, I ran across <em><a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/the-climate-crisis-has-made-breathing-smoke-normal-in-pacific-northwest\/\">this one.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I read their &#8220;About&#8221; page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coldstreams.com\/social\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Capture-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8184\" src=\"https:\/\/coldstreams.com\/social\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Capture-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"617\" height=\"358\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a propaganda operation: &#8220;&#8230; we will spur the revolution in consciousness and inspire the direct action that is necessary to save the planet and humanity&#8221;. That is not a legitimate news operation, yet Google News frequently features their articles.<\/p>\n<p>Even the name &#8220;Truthout&#8221; is typical of propaganda (a la <a href=\"http:\/\/masterrussian.com\/vocabulary\/pravda_truth.htm\">Pravda<\/a> being Russian for &#8220;Truth&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>Learn to be skeptical &#8211; learn to recognize when you are the subject of a propaganda operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While researching overuse of the &#8220;crisis&#8221; label (literally everything is now a crisis), I ran across a Google News linked web site whose own description largely labels itself as a propaganda mill.
