They are obligated to pay US income taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This topic &#8211; renouncing citizenship &#8211; appears often in the U.S. media, often with the spin that the U.S. is awful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As shown by the numbers, very close to 0% of the US population renounces their citizenship.
