Per a 2023 Gallup survey, 4% of Americans identify as vegetarian (and some studies find that about half of those admit to eating fish and meat from time to time) and 1% identify as vegan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But “plant-based” eating represents about 20-40% of diet-related media stories (varies depending on the media outlet). <\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Others have also noticed the media distortion of reality: The Truth About the Diet Trends: Insights from Consumer Surveys – Displayr<\/a>.
