In 2026, they\u2019re quitting it entirely<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;About half of Americans\u00a0cut back on social media in 2025, according to a\u00a0recent American Psychiatric Association (APA) poll, and even more plan to dial it down further in 2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cInstagram is weird,\u201d said Allen Dentt. \u201cI have 2,000 followers, yet most of my posts barely crack 20 likes. Stories still pull 50 to 100 views. I\u2019m purging my followers because this clearly isn\u2019t working.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram turned itself into TikTok and only shares videos, primarily, of attractive young people (same as TikTok). Still photos, which I shared, have been disappeared from the timeline. IG acknowledges this change &#8211; it largely no longer shares still photos and with a thousand followers, my posts might be seen by just 10-20 of my followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I rarely share anything on IG anymore. I deleted the app and occasionally log in via the web once or twice per month.
