And we are not talking about something that was controversial or incorrect either.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/washington-post-company-agrees-sell-newsweek-sidney-harman-71647\">which once owned Newsweek<\/a>) was accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2021\/01\/22\/the-washington-post-memory-holed-kamala-harris-bad-joke-about-inmates-begging-for-food-and-water\/\">editing a past news story to protect the current U.S. Vice President<\/a>. Indeed, WaPo has since admitted they had done so, went back and restored the original, but then added a new version of the story with their re-edited history.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that trust and credibility in long standing institutions is erased one by one.<\/p>\n<p>Surveys show trust in the media <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/media-trust-crisis-2bf0ec1c-00c0-4901-9069-e26b21c283a9.html\">has hit an all time low<\/a>. The media brought this upon themselves and have no one else to blame. (Although, if they were epidemiologists they would argue that media consumers are &#8220;not complying&#8221; and it is the people&#8217;s fault that they do not trust the media \ud83d\ude42 )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Newsweek and the Washington Post have both done stealth edits to long ago articles and did so for political reasons. Trust journalism?
