Both political parties are likely to be &#8220;fact deniers&#8221;, contrary to the views they hold of themselves. (Indeed, Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson emphasizes this point &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/heatst.com\/culture-wars\/neil-degrasse-tyson-says-left-is-just-as-guilty-of-anti-science-as-right\/?mod=sm_tw_post\">left and right are both &#8220;science deniers&#8221;<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>This leads to intuitive, quick, easy &#8220;System 1&#8221; analysis versus the time consuming, harder, rational thinking of &#8220;System 2&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>This illustrates the persuasive power of propaganda to influence opinion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coldstreams.com\/social\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ch-jNgrWUAAlDlC.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1100\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1100\" src=\"https:\/\/coldstreams.com\/social\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ch-jNgrWUAAlDlC.jpg\" alt=\"Ch-jNgrWUAAlDlC\" width=\"600\" height=\"735\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nSource &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LindaRegber\/status\/729481117645025280\">Linda Regber<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong>Thinking Fast and Slow<\/strong> <\/em>author Kahneman, and creator of the &#8220;System 1 and System 2&#8221; thinking concept acknowledges that 11 of 12 studies cited in his chapter on &#8220;priming&#8221; were from weak studies. That chapter implied that &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/retractionwatch.com\/2017\/02\/20\/placed-much-faith-underpowered-studies-nobel-prize-winner-admits-mistakes\/\">subtle cues in their environment can have strong effects on their behavior outside their awareness<\/a>&#8220;. This does not mean his conclusions are wrong but that the evidence supporting his conclusions may be weak on the subject of &#8220;priming&#8221;.
