He thinks the Salinas Valley in California should be developed into dense urbanization as far more important than stupid agriculture.

James seems to think fruits and vegetables magically appear in grocery stores.

The Salinas Valley produces the following percentages of total United States production:

  • 61% of total leaf lettuce production,
  • 57% of head lettuce,
  • 80% of leafy greens,
  • 28% of all strawberries,
  • 38% of Spinach,
  • 48% of Broccoli,
  • 57% of celery,
  • 30% of US cauliflower and
  • 90% of US artichokes.

One cannot pave over the Salinas valley and move this production somewhere else – because these vegetables are dependent on the weather, climate and soil. Further, due to the climate, the area harvest two crops per year on the same land, for some of these items.

Nor we can assume they will be grown in some other country due to transportation time and costs (let alone the effects on the environment).

The valley also produces spinach, kale, arugula, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, brussels sprouts, cabbage, celery, carrots, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, various squash and grapes.

James is proving that the purpose of social media is to make a fool of oneself in public.
