Media: The Guardian does it again
California never had avalanches before in history. “Donner Summit” near where this avalanche occurred is of course named after the party of travelers who enjoyed wonderful, nice weather as they crossed the Sierras in the 19th century. It was quite the party!

Even though their expert said it was not due to climate change, the morons at The Guardian blamed climate change in the headline!
The climate crisis can lead to weather extremes that include both drought and heavier precipitation. Clements said he did not believe this individual avalanche can be directly linked to the climate crisis, and it was “a meteorological phenomenon, not a climate phenomenon”.
After making fools of themselves by making up things the experts did not say, the fake news site The Guardian has rewritten the headline. The search engine link for this:

Now goes to : Avalanche risks remain high in California after deaths of skiers | California | The Guardian

The Guardian is not suitable for lining bird cages.
Their nonsense was picked up by others including AP – Snow drought set stage for California avalanche that trapped skiers | AP News but they correctly quoted the expert:
Warmer-than-usual temperatures contributed to a snow drought throughout the West. But Clements said this week’s avalanche is fairly typical for California’s Sierra Nevada and he doesn’t believe it can be linked to climate change.
