The FAA and a few members of Congress want to remove the law, passed by Congress and signed by President Obama, that insures that hobbyists can continue to fly model aircraft. The threat is real. The consequences, as detailed in one my posts, below, are heavy handed regulation that may de facto end the model aircraft hobby.

CEO Satya Nadella has made impressive changes to Microsoft’s organizational culture. I worked for Microsoft in the 1990s and watched from afar as the company seemed adrift after the year 2000 or so. Glad to see the changes CEO Satya Nadella has fostered at Microsoft.
There are two large issues facing the radio controlled aircraft hobby. The first is the reckless way that a few hobbyists are flying, putting people in danger. The second is powerful corporate interests that want to use commercial automated, pilot-less commercial drone technology for deliveries and are lobbying government for airspace that is de facto exclusive to themselves – and seeking strict rules on model aircraft.
Why I am walking away from Twitter and Facebook. Or stated another way, “Why are we voluntarily signing up to receive online propaganda conducted as mind control and manipulation operations?” because that is what social media has become.
