The left and right images were taken about six feet apart using one Lumix GH-2 camera, creating a deep sense of depth in this red\/cyan anaglyph 3D image. With the wide stereo base, the 3D effect is visible out to perhaps 1200 feet (400 meters).<\/p>\n
I was lucky in that I found a brief moment when there were no cars on the freeway and the train was stopped!<\/p>\n
I also discovered some better ways of processing these images in StereoPhoto Maker; this one uses the Dubois algorithm for generating the anaglyph, which seems to improve the contrast and possibly reducing ghosting artifacts.<\/p>\n
