We’ve all been there – feeling like we never have enough free time. Turns out, that might actually be for the best. In a study of more than 35,000 people led by the American Psychological Association, researchers found those who were the most happy only had about two to five hours of leisure time in a day. Happiness levels decreased for participants who had over five hours of free time, because “it undermines one’s sense of purpose,” says a social psychologist.
