When policy collides with reality – not a shortage of scientists but a shortage of jobs

Seeing several articles like this recently: U.S. pushes for more scientists, but the jobs aren’t there – The Washington Post.

Even in tech, people forget that in economic terms, a shortage means you cannot find what you want at the price you are willing to pay. And some say there is a surplus of tech workers but careers in tech are often short so there is a permanent demand for new, young hires.
